| Although VERNAL , thirty miles west of the Colorado border on US-40
as it heads to Salt Lake City, is the largest community in northeast
Utah, and holds a mildly diverting dinosaur museum, for most visitors
it's only significant as an overnight stop. Budget motels lining Main
Street include the Sage at no. 54 W (tel 435/789-1442 or 1-800/760-1442,
; $35-50), which has its own adjacent restaurant , and the Best Western
Antlers Motel at no. 423 W (tel 435/789-1202; $50-75).
